Stiff or crunching gears are a sign of a worn synchroniser within the gearbox
The Synchro system is an ingenious way of matching the speed of each gear change to alleviate bad gear changes.
Our genuine original replacements are a complete 2 piece synchroniser assembly for 5th gear inside any Rover/ Lotus PG1 gearbox.
N.B The two Hardened Steel Synroniser gears have been Shot Peened for extra toughness and longevity.
