AP Twin Pot Calipers

These radially mounted AP Twin Pot calipers have been designed to work specifically with our Rear GT Hubs or the early Mk1 type uprights using our Radial caliper mounts.

They have a Twin 36mm Pistons which is a perfect combination with either the 44mm OE front Calipers or our EP Tuning 4 Pot Brake Calipers.

With these you can keep the original master cylinder

You can even use this with our AP 4 Pot front brake calipers although we would advise an upgraded larger bore master cylinder if this is chosen

AP is synonymous with all forms of racing and are known throughout the world as the best.

We have chosen AP (as Lotus have in all their race cars) to be our preffered supplier for our upgraded brake packages.

They have a high quality aluminium alloy body with cast in protection for the bleeders and stainless steel cross over lines.

AP calipers are rigid yet lightweight with thin wall stainless steel pistons for low heat transfer from the pad.

They will take/dissipate more heat with no fade and last longer because of the material and process used in the manufacture.

1/. The larger pistons within the caliper create more clamping load.
2/. The leverage on the outside of the disc is further outwards thus the clamping force is greater.
3/. The pads have a larger surface area than the original rear pads so they will last longer.
4/. No Master Cylinder change is necessary.
5/. Improves the rear braking bias on your car which is a great advantage as its lacking on all Elise derivatives.
6/. Lightweight, pressure cast aluminium alloy 2-piece body for better pedal feel than typical monoblock calipers
7/. Fixed radial mount for minimal caliper flex

10/. Anti-rattle clip to eliminate pad knock

For those running 200BHP+ and/or competitively racing, AP calipers and discs are an essential requirement.

These AP calipers will require larger discs than OE; we recommend at least 295mm AP discs are used as they will be too powerful for OE standard discs.

Although the AP discs have a larger outside diameter they are usually lighter than the original equipment steel discs you have on your car.

Please be aware that these have no internal handbrake mechanism so are for race use only
