Ertacetal Wishbone Bushes

The rubber bushes used on the Elise are sometimes too flexible and camber/castor changes whilst driving are inevitable.

One alternative is to rose joint your vehicle, which can be too harsh for a road car.

Now you can have the best of both worlds with these Ertacetal bushes. They do not affect the ride comfort of your car but intensify the handling capabilities by keeping the geometry as it should be under varying conditions.

Eliseparts now have a complete New Design incorporating our unique Grease Grooves in the Stainless Steel Sleeves and 10 x 2mm holes strategically drilled around the bush centres.

These holes do two things.

1/. Most wishbones are deformed at the point where the wishbone is welded to the bush mount. If you insert a perfectly round bush into this point it will deform the bush very slightly but significantly enough to cause high spots.

On the Original rubber bushes this deformity is taken up by the soft rubber but any harder material such as Nylatron or Acetal will need to be adjusted to take account of this.

Our 10 x pre drilled holes alleviate this slight deformity so you can insert them without having to Drill holes or Ream the bushes at all.

2/. The 10 x holes also allow the insertion of more grease in the area it is mostly required i.e. between the outer washer and the bush face.

The 4 x grooves that we have machined into the Stainless Steel bush sleeve will always keep the inner sleeve lubricated too.

Another innovative idea we have incorporated into our new design is the main sleeve is of a top hat shape.

Although this is a much more expensive way of machining than a straight sleeve we have found this to be much stronger and less likely to “mushroom” under the torque pressure of the wishbone mounting bolts.

Ertacetal is one of the highest specification materials that can be used as a suspension bush. Its heat range, dimensional stabilty and excellent slide properties are unequalled by any other Nylon product.

14 x 38.25mm Stainless Steel Sleeves.

2 x 48.25mm Stainless Steel Sleeves

16 x CNC machined Stainless Steel Washers

1 x Sachet of Molybdenum high tack grease and detailed instructions.
