Harness Bar Fitting

Remove both seats as it is still a tight squeeze even with the driver’s seat forward. The use of “wobbly head” Allen keys greatly assists here (Halfords sell these).

Some Elise roll over hoops are narrower than others due to lotus tolerances so you may find the below procedure helpful when installing the bar.

Put the bar in place, if you have chosen the bolt on harness style the threaded inserts face downwards (this alleviates water ingress if the passenger side harness is unused). Thread each M10 bolt/washer 2 full turns then alternate between each one turning 1 complete turn each, this is imperative & will keep the bar engaged straight as it is designed to fit snugly up against the Lotus Roll hoop.
